Course Description

 

Australia is a multicultural and multilingual nation.  For many young children, participation in an early childhood program involves learning a new language.  The range is wide: children from migrant families whose first language is not English; children in Aboriginal communities where Language is strong; children in programs where languages are taught for enrichment. This presentation will look at how young children learn a second language, and what teachers can do to support developing language skills.
