Course Length: 60 Minutes

Course Description

In a secondary classroom there is little opportunity to review skills and foundation knowledge that are covered in early literacy education. However, if a student is missing some of the fundamentals it is essential that these skills are incorporated into the tasks  they are engaged with. Encouraging students to focus on features of text types, vocabulary and using their imagination to engage the audience can make significant improvements to student achievement. This session will outline strategies for teachers to use to help ensure that fundamental skills are covered whilst still making the lessons engaging.
