Course Length: 1 Hour

Course Description

As a graduate, meeting and working with the families of your students can be challenging. It is often in meeting with parents that you become acutely aware of your new responsibilities and obligations as a teacher. What experienced teachers know is that positive relationships are built through open channels of communication that enable teachers and parents to have regular dialogue. This brings the greatest benefit to the students’ education. It is also important to set clear expectations about the frequency and timing of the communication. In this session the presenter will outline 10 strategies that can be used by graduate teachers to encourage open and positive interactions with parents.
